"EcoDiscovery Center" now open at the Museum of Discovery & Science Roto is excited to announce the opening of two new galleries at the Museum of Discovery & Science in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Prehistoric Florida and Storm Center exhibit areas make up over 5,000 ft2 of the museum’s new EcoDiscovery Center. A giant 50 foot Megalodon shark greets visitors as they enter the Prehistoric Florida exhibit. This space allows visitors to go back in time 65 million years and get a new perspective on Florida’s prehistoric past and how it was shaped by climate change and changes in sea levels. The adjacent 2,300ft2 Storm Center examines Florida’s ever-changing weather and includes a 149 MPH wind Hurricane Simulator, 12’ Touch Tornado and Cloud Ring which lofts rings of fog 18’ into the air. Visitors can have their photo taken in a storm scene or deliver the weather forecast in front of a chroma key green screen.
