Whitaker Center - Forces of Nature

After completing a comprehensive master plan for the science museum at Whitaker Center in 2005, the client subsequently hired Roto to design and build a number of new exhibit spaces including this popular and dramatic earth science exhibit. Forces of Nature features a dozen interactive elements surrounded by giant photo murals depicting the major “forces” that shape the planet. The three most iconic exhibits include including a 13-foot tall vapor tornado (with the cloud forming correctly at the top), an 8-foot diameter 360° real-time video globe, and a wildly-popular Hurricane Chamber capable of delivering 95 MPH winds to delighted visitors without the need for goggles or operational staffing.
