Roto teamed up with the owners of Frolic!, and delivered an interactive VW bus to be a focal point for the new Brooklyn based, high-end indoor children’s play space.  Outfitted with floor to ceiling shag carpet, this bus truly embodies the overall “Rock n’ Roll” theme portrayed throughout the space.

Frolic has recently been featured on NY1 and Channel 11 News, click here to check out the video.

Project Engineer, Matt Lubbers just returned from an installation trip to Calgary where Roto is putting the finishing touches on the 9,000 ft2 “Creative Kids Museum,” a primary feature of the new Calgary Science Centre.  Check out these 3D images he shot of various exhibits and views – but you’ll need to scrounge up those classic red/blue lenses first!

A few Roto folks spent this past weekend in Baltimore exhibiting at the ASTC (Association of Science & Technology Centers) Annual Conference. Two full days of great conversation and delicious seafood made for another successful event.  We look forward to seeing everyone next year in Columbus!

Roto’s Allen Boerger (Principal) and Doug Powhida (Project Manager) made the evening news with the 50-foot Megalodon replica they’re installing in Fort Lauderdale this week.  The figure is a part of the new permanent “Prehistoric Florida” natural history exhibition scheduled to open at the Museum of Discovery & Science in mid-November.  Allen is clearly recognizable in the news footage as the guy wearing his trademark Hawaiian shirt!

Wow, what a week in Houston!  Roto was an active presence at both the ACM and AAM shows, and enjoyed reconnecting with many colleagues across the museum spectrum.  AAM 2011 was the first museum conference to see Roto's 20' x 20' booth -- the signature shag experience!
